Program Objectives

Bachelor of Science

Students who graduate from the undergraduate program will have:

  1. The knowledge to meet employer needs should they choose a professional career.
  2. The knowledge to engage in advanced study should they choose to continue their education.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Master of Engineering

The M.E. degree program prepares the students:

  1. With advanced knowledge and principles to solve electrical engineering problems.
  2. To obtain new skills needed for professional development.

Master of Science in Engineering

The M.S.E. degree program prepares the students:

  1. With advanced knowledge and principles to solve electrical engineering problems.
  2. To obtain new skills needed for professional development.
  3. To provide the student with technical skills and knowledge for conducting research.

COMPUTER ENGINEERING

Master of Engineering

Students will be able to:

  1. Apply hardware and software techniques and problem solving to a variety of topics in computer engineering.
  2. Demonstrate the basis for ethical behavior, conduct and responsibility demanded of computer engineering professionals.

Master of Science in Engineering

Students will be able to:

  1. Apply hardware and software techniques and problem solving to a variety of topics in computer engineering.
  2. Demonstrate the basis for ethical behavior, conduct and responsibility demanded of computer engineering professionals.
  3. Develop the ability to conduct research projects.

Doctor of Philosophy

The primary focus in selecting and training candidates for the doctoral program is to ensure breadth and depth of knowledge and to develop the student’s ability to conduct independent and productive research, synthesis, and design.

The objectives of the program are:

  1. To ensure skills in the use of the tools of computer engineering and to ensure a broad understanding of the discipline’s basic areas.
  2. To ensure a firm foundation in computational mathematics and engineering sciences.
  3. To provide opportunities for advanced specialization and creative research in computer engineering.
  4. To provide the environment and academic, research and outreach opportunities that will prepare students to make tangible contributions to the computer engineering and to society.
