The Geosciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program (GSURP) is sponsored by the Department of Geosciences for undergraduate students and pre-freshmen already enrolled for the fall semester. High school juniors are also encouraged to apply and participate during the summer before their senior high school year.
The Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge has provided support for much of the work done in GSURP.
Program participants conduct intense field work for six weeks and make presentations of their research findings. Many GSURP students present their findings and are recognized at the annual TU Student Research Colloquium. They are encouraged to also present at national and international conferences.
