Economics expert joins School of Cyber Studies faculty 

The School of Cyber Studies at The University of Tulsa is pleased to welcome Neil Gandal to the faculty as Applied Distinguished Professor of Cyber Studies. Gandal is a leading scholar in the fields of network economics, cybersecurity, cryptocurrencies and software platforms.  

“We are honored and excited to welcome Neil to TU,” said Tyler Moore, Tandy Professor of Cyber Security and chair of the School of Cyber Studies. “We look forward to his contributions teaching interdisciplinary cyber courses, mentoring doctoral students and collaborating on research projects.” 

Neil GandalGandal is Professor of Economics at Tel Aviv University, where he also holds the Henry Kaufman Chair in International Capital Markets. He has served as chair of the School of Economics and the Department of Public Policy at Tel Aviv.  

“Cybersecurity is an interdisciplinary problem that requires contributions from multiple perspectives, including economics,” Gandal said. “I am excited to partner with the faculty at TU and bring an economics perspective to help build excellent educational and research programs that advance this emerging and important discipline.” 

Gandal will continue to serve on the faculty at Tel Aviv while appointed at TU, where he plans to begin teaching in fall 2022.
