University of Tulsa sophomore Vernon Londagin has been named a 2014 Gilman Scholar to study abroad in Japan this summer.
Londagin is a double major in physics and mathematics and will use the Gilman Scholarship in concert with the NanoJapan Program; he will conduct summer research in the ultra broadband signal processing laboratory at Tohoku University.
Londagin is the 10th TU student to win a Gilman Scholarship since 2005. The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program offers grants to U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or internships abroad. Award recipients are chosen through a competitive selection process and must use the scholarship to defray eligible study or intern abroad costs.
