Two University of Tulsa students have won the Math Jeopardy competition at the Oklahoma-Arkansas section meeting of the Mathematical Association of America. The event was held April 10 at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
Christian Mann, a mathematics and computer science senior, and Robbie Mudroch, a computer science junior, placed first among 16 Oklahoma and Arkansas collegiate teams. Christian Constanda, the C.W. Oliphant Professor of Mathematical Sciences, is the team’s adviser. The competition featured mathematical problem solving in a game format similar to Jeopardy.
TU math students have won first place in the competition four out of the past five years.
“The consistent success of our students is a testament to their talent, hard work and dedication in the classroom,” Constanda said. “Our department continues to excel and produce top-quality mathematicians.”
