PetroBowl team winsThe competition is a fast-paced quiz bowl where 36 teams from around the world are challenged to answer questions related to petroleum engineering including technical aspects, history, current events and statistics. Industry experts serve as a panel of judges.

TU defeated the University of Oklahoma 150-95 to take grand prize. Team members included seniors Doyle Kindle and Ade Oyewole as well as master’s degree students Konark Ogra and Auzan Soedarmo. Kindle, who is team captain, said TU has competed in the event since its inception in 2002.

“The guys on the team put in countless hours year-round in preparation for the competition, and I’m glad their hard work paid off,” he said.

The ATCE PetroBowl exposes students to many technical aspects and current events early in their academic careers. Thorough preparation in all areas of petroleum engineering ensures well-rounded students, especially for those studying at a graduate level and specializing in a specific field.

Fourteen students and six faculty and staff attended the ATCE. The TU attendees enjoyed networking with other petroleum engineering students and professionals from around the world while experiencing Amsterdam’s rich culture and history.
