Ralph Veatch receives SPE fracturing award

Ralph Veatch (BS ’59, MS ’65, PhD ’71) was honored with the Society of Petroleum Engineers Legends of Hydraulic Fracturing Award at the 2017 SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference earlier this year.

ralph veatchVeatch began his career in 1960 as a petroleum engineer with Amoco Production Co. He later transferred to Amoco’s Tulsa Research Center (TU’s current North Campus facility) where he contributed to the conception and development of the hydraulic fracturing process.

An SPE Legion of Honor member, Veatch has served on the SPE Board of Directors and served in every office of the mid-continent section. He is an SPE Distinguished Author and Lecturer. Currently, he is president of Software Enterprises Inc. in Tulsa.
