World of Physics show made famous by Professor McCoy

Professor takes physics show on the road

Applied Associate Professor of Physics Jerry McCoy has performed his Wonderful World of Physics show for elementary, middle and high school students in the Tulsa area for more than 15 years. He is inspired by his father who educated students as a professor of physics. His show is an ongoing dialogue with the audience, demonstrating how physics is incorporated in many aspects of everyday life.

“Our state and country are desperately in need of kids wanting to grow up and become scientists and engineers,” McCoy said. “My hope is that I’ll be one little link in the chain that gets them moving toward a career in science and engineering, so they will become innovators, scientists, developers and researchers of the next generation.”

McCoy’s Wonderful World of Physics show inspires students as early as the fifth and sixth grade. Learn more about the event in this Explore Tulsa story.
